Andrew Hakopian- Medical School REgional Representative
MS2 George Washington University
Hi everyone! My name is Andrew, I’m a second-year medical student at the George Washington University in DC. I graduated from The Ohio State University in 2020 with a B.S. in Neuroscience with minors in Aviation and Russian. In undergrad I worked as an EMT where I learned to love emergency medicine and was on OSU’s Club Sailing Team as a big boat skipper. At GW I have been involved with our Emergency Medicine Interest Group and I am one of the founders of our Aerospace Medicine Interest Group. I am also captain of the GW chapter for Two-Step CPR, an organization with the goal of teaching the general public hands-only CPR in a quick and easy to learn format. The specialty I am most interested in is emergency medicine, and I would like to focus on disaster medicine/working in austere environments.
I love spending time outdoors! My main hobby is flying; I have been a pilot for over six years, and I am currently in the process of obtaining my commercial pilot’s license. My other hobbies include hiking, sailing, and camping.
